Helen's Bean Salad (Hot or Cold)

 

14 oz (398 mL) can green beans, drained
14 oz (398 mL) can yellow beans, drained
14 oz (398 mL) can chick peas, drained
14 oz (398 mL) can kidney beans, drained
14 oz (398 mL) can brown beans, with liquid

Sauce:
1/2 cup (125 mL) white vinegar
1/3 cup (75 mL) maple syrup
1 tsp (5 mL) powdered mustard
1 tsp (5 mL) garlic salt or powder
1 tsp (5 mL) salt

Directions: Combine beans in large bowl and mix well. In a jar, mix sauce ingredients well and pour over bean mixture. You madd add chopped onion, fried pieces of bacon or bacon bits at serving time. Let sit overnight in refrigerator. To heat, warm in oven on low heat.
